Finding the same capacitance value is a useful starting point for an audio capacitor replacement. It is not enough to establish that a new part is suitable.
A practical replacement review combines electrical specifications, mechanical fit and the requirements of the original circuit.
1. Record the original specification
Capture the full marking, manufacturer and part number where possible. Consult the original datasheet or equipment documentation instead of relying only on a photograph.
Record capacitance and tolerance separately. A marking of 10 µF, for example, does not by itself tell you the required tolerance.
2. Check voltage and operating conditions
Confirm the required voltage rating and whether the specification is DC or AC. Review temperature and applicable electrical loading. A higher DC rating does not establish suitability for every operating condition.
3. Compare construction and fit
Identify the specified capacitor type and construction. Check body length, diameter, lead dimensions and mounting clearance against the actual installation. Electrical suitability and physical compatibility are separate checks.
4. Evaluate a specific TS27A combination
Suntan TS27A Classic is a metallized polypropylene audio capacitor series. Its published range covers 0.047–100 µF, with 250, 400 and 630 VDC options and ±3% or ±5% tolerance.
Use those figures to shortlist a candidate, then confirm the exact capacitance, voltage, tolerance and dimensions in the applicable product information. The series range does not mean that every possible combination is available.
5. Send a complete replacement inquiry
Include the original part details, required specifications, dimensional limits and quantity. Explain whether the request concerns a repair, a production substitution or a new design.
The final choice should be reviewed against the equipment requirements; a matching nominal capacitance is not a replacement guarantee.
Review TS27A Classic, compare other Suntan audio capacitors, or contact Suntan with your replacement requirements.
